Has anyone else had a look yet and tried out, the new family tree proposed by GR, I had a look this morning and it seems very simple to enter details and more importantly, to delete a relation. This is something I find very difficult if a mistake has been made, a whole family has sometimes to be deleted before a correction can be made! They have asked for a feedback, have many of you sent one in yet? I did not notice this last time I used the family tree, has it just begun? I have asked them what will happen to the previous trees, will they all be on view, or just the new one, at the present, both new and old style are shown, wo`nt this be a bit confusing |

The first time I tried it, you could click on somebody in the tree and then search, and it took you straight into the list of names for that individual, which I thought was good. However, it wouldn't play the next time I asked it! Yes, I sent feedback, as I liked it - thought it was easier to enter information, but asked them to get rid of Humberside as a substitute for East Yorkshire! Jay |

Click on the ''Family Tree'' link at the top of this page - then there is a link above the tabs ''Click here to access the new beta tree''. Then if you click on ''View Tree'' across the top, it should give a view of the whole tree that you can scroll around, with + and - keys for changing how large the tiles/writing show up (sometimes you only get a blank screen, until they get it up to speed I guess) |

Janet..........don't hold your breath on the Humberside/Yorkshire thing! I've asked them a couple of times and they say it doesn't matter as you have the option to use their suggestion of Humberside, or else type in what you want to put. I've tried explaining that the county didn't come into existence until the seventies so it is very unlikely that any of our 'ancestors' were born in the county anyway! Bl**dy southerners! LOL Jeanette x |

Quite agree Jeanette - and it no longer exists for my patch anyway. My point was that if they are going to produce a list of counties, could they please get it right, as they have West and North Yorks but no East. They do have Tyne and Wear, which is recent, but also have provided the options of Northumberland and County Durham. Let them keep Humberside (no one else wants it, and at least half the country have never heard of it!) but as well as providing the option of Lincolnshire, they should also have East Yorks. Should I accuse them of discrimination, perhaps???? Jay |
