Yes... it seems that my ancestor was over-zealous in arresting a wily solicitor and ended up in the dock himself for false arrest. On checking dates I see that William's wife was dying at the time and I think it's a possibility that his misjudgement was stress-related. |

I can't find anything about the City of London Co-operative Society by Googling, yet I know it existed because my detective ancestor arrested a shoplifter there in 1882. I'd love a picture of the building to add to the mini-biography I'm writing. |
