Hi Angie Yes, direct line means that you have descended from them - so they are your parents, grandparents, gt-grandparents, etc. Strictly speaking, these are your ancestors. Uncles, aunts, cousins are relatives (often called collateral relations) who share a common ancestor with you. They are not (usually!) your ancestors - unless there's been a bit of intermarrying going on! Richard
