Did you get the mmn Anderson cert from the GRO? Maybe you should ask the local reg office to check the original birth cert to see if that also says Anderson. At the end of the registration Q the registrar had to copy out all the registrations to send them to the GRO. He might have made a copying error. Merry

Right - what is your Grandad Berties proper name - is it Bertie on his birth cert ( or something else?)

I'am so far making progress with my Bevan family. The info i've got so far is that my gdad Bertie b 1914, had a father called Bertie and mother called Rebecca Anderson. I searched for a marriage between them and came up with blanks. I'd also been searching for Bertie jnr's bro Bob. I found him as Robert J, all info same as my gdad's cert ACCEPT mother's maiden name is Henderson. I have since found a marriage on Scotlands people between Albert Bevan and Rebecca Henderson 1912. I don't know how i can be sure that these are mine. It could be just a coincidence, and Rebecca's name was actually Anderson?! There could equally be a fitting match in the eng and welsh BMD that i haven't found yet. Can anyone give advice on how to be sure i've got the right people? Thanks!
