many thanks to all looks as if i will have to get another cert thomas birth cert hope i can understand that one better? thomas jarvis was living in south wales at the time of his marriage but i dont think his father moved from north wales. big thanks to all for looking.

If you can't read the occupation on the marriage certificate, then I would phone the GRO (or wherever you ordered the certificate from) and ask if they can tell you what it says or do a better copy for you. I have birth and marriage certificates where only the name a person is known by is on the certificate and not all names. Is there an address on the birth certificate (if you have this)? Who were the witnesses on the marriage certificate? Kath. x

thanks all i new where his birth took place by a family member. they cant remember much about him. thomas jarvis occupation was a miner his fathers occupation i cant understand its just a blur. yes merry thats his birth, sorry all the others are not him. fathers name griffith was his first name.

Landwrog (place of birth on the Thomas I found in 1891) is covered by Caernarvon registration district. Kath. x

Thing is, unless they used his middle name o the census , he'll just have been listed as Thomas Jones..... the sort of name nightmare are made of. i cant see his birth either

I hardly dare ask this, but is there an occupation for Griffith? And what about Thomas.....we could do with something really unusual like Rocket Scientist, or similar!! Merry

hello to all i have been going mad all evning, this morning i received my certs i have been waiting for, i have a marriage of susannah cox and thomas jarvis jones. i have been all evening trying to find thomas jarvis on the census but cant find him. birth 1888 death 1960 but no census, he was born in carnarvon north wales but died in bristol. fathers name on the marriage cert is griffith jones and under his name i think it says deceased the marriage was in 1907. any ideas on this please
