Hi, does anyone know how I could find out if my Gt grandmother died in World War 2, would her details be in the GRO? Thanks in advance. Thankyou for the help. I have searched for my gt. grandmother for 13 years and I'm no further forward it's like she just disappeared! It doesn't help that her name could have been Jones. I have searched GRO from 1942 (last known alive) to 2004, I have also searched for her daughters. Once again thanks

All deaths should be on GRO index. Some civilian war deaths are on CWGC(google)

Try the commonwealth war graves commission site and let us know how you get on! It includes civilian war dead.
