And what I meant was, Could GR have made the match before you changed the name?? How long ago did you change it? Merry

Merry What I mean is how come the system has matched them up in the first place...am I to assume that everyone with a John born in 1854 or whatever got given this a hot match,as they certainly couldnt have had any 'commonest Names ' in their tree.....and if so thousands of people must have been matched up lol....

hiya Ego, there was a thread similar to this last night, it appears that GR are aware of some 'problem' (ahem) with the hot (Not) matching, HTH Julie

How long ago did you change it? Maybe the Hot match list was prepared by GR ages ago? I keep receiving Hot Matches for people who no longer have their tree on here! Merry

Prior to advertising the fact that I had subsituted Smith with 'Commonest Name' for the purpose of avoiding Not matches can someone explain how I still received an email from another member entititled with the words 'John Commonest Name ' when I am the only person who has used this ...??...ie there are only 2 people in 70 million called 'Commonest Name' and they are mine.....how did the system throw them up?
