Kris How does this work as a research tool? I wasn't aware that the Freemasons kept any records of BMDs or family etc. Do tell! My great grandfather was quite a high-up Mason, and if there is the slightest chance that he has given any info to anyone about his antecedants, then I'm on! OC

Thanks for nudging that thread Val. I have actually enquired at the London library - I would be interested to hear about other people's experiences and what information they received.

Has anyone tried to trace ancestors using the freemasonry reources? Have spoken to a librarian in London and it sounds like it might prove to be VERY expensive. I would be interested to know if anyone has done this and what sort of information they got.
