I just opened my FTM program to be told that there is an update to download. Clicked on the download and apparently have it now - but just what is updated, anyone know?

Some of us haven't got the 2006 version Heather,our employers don't value us enough to enable us to afford such a luxury!!! I think some 'patches' are updated to cure known problems,but us poor '05 users will never know. My site is updated by the way,Martha '100 not out' now pictured on the homepage,and now trying to get a search result by using Cyndislist thingy. Glen

Well, I expect some thoughtful employers are aware of the limitations of their slaves, erm, employees and dont want to tax their little grey cells too much Glen. Meanwhile Ive apparently updated my glorious 2006 version but dont know how. Did your web counter go back to zero Glen? Before my puter bust I saw it went from 37 one day and next time only on 4. I dare say 36 of those viewings were down to you cribbing my family details but I wondered why it had reset. Just checked and its in the teens again - what photos have you snatched from me now??????

I downloaded the update, when you merge a census to a person on your tree it now asks for each individual on the census page whether you want to add them. Useful for a large family with many children to be added.

Oh yes, thats handy. But the trouble with the merge facility is that the FTM adds about a page of acknowledgements to ancestry with it.

Really? I can't say I've ever noticed that.

Do you have a homepage? If you do a merge, you get tons of stuff crediting ancestry etc for the info. I go through deleting it all but its a bit of a pain.

I rejigged the homepage and resized some pics,and had to reload the counter,somehow it started at 00 instead of 000. I just added some Berwick photographs and dear old Martha to my homepage. Still curious about your Goulson/Goulston entries though,wonder if there is a link. Just found out today that the Old Custom House in Berwick is to go for sale at auction,might make a bid,but i think i'm a few quid short though. If the place gets gutted (it has permission for re-developement as flats or something) i wonder if a friendly word might reveal some real piece of family history? Glen

So what version are you running now - have you updated to FTM version 16 ? We had a thread running about this last week - but of course you were no where to be seen so we had to struggle on our own. And while we are at it - what about the FTM problem we had last week that no one could answer - even your stand in Glen couldn´t find the right answer to it - our only advice was to contact FTM direct (and we are still awaiting their reply!!) Just make sure you keep your computer up and running in future and we are not left in the lurch to cope with these problems on our own.

Just tried to access the catalogue but the lot number is showing for a London property. Bet the old place is worth a few quid though. Grade 1 listed,Georgian Terraced property,basement,ground and first floor,vacant. It isn't exactly small either. Glen

Oh - and forgot to say - Glen and I uploaded our FTM home pages about the same time (certainly within a day or two of each other) - mine now comes up on google searches - Glen´s is no where to be seen!!!

Aaahh, that explains it, I haven't uploaded my FTM tree to the Internet.

Elaine, in all matters FTM, Im afraid my protege has become my master and I look to Glen for the answers. I think I had a flash come up after I downloaded which said FTMV16 - so may be I do have that. But Im surprised they would give it out as an update without asking for dosh. BTW, talking of insurgence - where is Val??????

That answers everything - Glen is your master - and you are his mistress - say no more!!! I´ll try to find the thread we had running last week about the version 16 update and nudge it up.

I think Im a bit too wrinkly to be his mistress Elaine!!! More likely his mother I should think.
