There's a Joseph E Saunders married in Marylebone District in Q4 1915 (1a 1909) to a Lillie A Wallace, but (unless you know the wife's name) you won't know if this one is him without getting the cert! (Yours didn't have a middle name, did he??). There are no others in Marylebone up to 1920, but your chap could easily have married somewhere else nearby. Merry

Firstly, to cut down the possibles, check the date of their oldest kiddie if you know it and work back from there. Take it you know wifes first name at least? Buy one of the kids birth certs and then you will know mums maiden name and you can be certain of the marriage ref before you buy the cert. If all else fails, spend a few quid signing up to familyrelatives.org where the 1866-1920 period is completely name searchable and area/date searchable.

Have 3 Weetabix for breakfast, then start ploughing through the FreeBMD marriage index on Ancestry quarter by quarter. At least the surname is reasonably unusual and he didn't live to a ripe old age so you shouldn't get many matches. You should get wife's maiden name, so you can then look that up in the same quarter to find her first name. I'm fresh out of Weetabix!! J
