For what it's worth the web search has never been much use to me,it will list ancestry as a source, but will not show the census result page or bmd ref on your programme,i always c&p the census return in the notes section. Assuming you have registered FTM the following may be your answer. Question Why do I get a crash when I use the Web Merge feature to merge results from some specific data collections? Answer Cause: This is a known issue in Family Tree Maker 2005. It affects search results from the following data collections: World War I Draft Cards Social Security Death Index Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1883-1945 1861 UK Census Resolution: This issue was corrected in Family Tree Maker 2006. For members who wish to continue using Family Tree Maker 2005, there is a workaround. The View Online button in the Web Search will take you to the data record on Ancestry.com. From here, you can copy and paste the search result information from these databases into your file. Glen |
