I came across this website by chance. Having just discovered my gt x 3 grandfather on the 1851 census where he says he was born in Coggeshall in 1777, I found this website lists parishes by county with e-mail addresses of folk willing to do look ups. Well, I didn't know if the site was still up to date, or whether the addresses had changed, etc, but I sent off a request, hoping that there wasn't too much of Coggeshall baptism register to wade through for that year. Blow me down, I got a reply a few hours later, saying the registers were easy to read. The baptism entry gives his date of birth as well as his baptism date [big improvement on when his son, my gt x 2 grandfather was baptised - he's just noted under the month!] and I've now found HIS - ie my gt x 4 grandparents' marriage. nell

It´s a while since I looked at this site - can´t believe how many parishes appear to have been added. Well worth a look!

Well Done Nell, I'm very pleased for you :)) been catching up with your 'Threads'!, you have been busy!. Have you seen the little snippet on TABS in The Times?... something to do with bankruptcy. I like following Octavian, (named after Norfolk's famous M.D.!) :)) Chris :)

This is a good website for Lincolnshire, I think I originally got it from here. http://home.wi.rr.com/lincolnshire/lincs.html Lynn
