Wow l didn't expect replies so quick. My fathers name is Peter Francis Logan born 3/5/1910 Liverpool. Francis was his confiration name but he always used it. Yes l have checked ancestry page by page twice to be sure. l wouldn't think he is still alive though he had the constitution of a ox (my mum used to say that) he only had one lung and had other medical problems. Ancestry have two full databases you can search, one is 1837-1983 and one is 1984 to 2004. You will need to check both if the possible date is close to the 1983-84 split. Glen

Use this: Complete BMD Indexes 1984-2004 (On Ancestry) Find the transcribed index record of people you are searching for here.* Births Marriages Deaths It has the option of inserting birth date into the search. Cheers, Horatia

by saying that you have checked till 1983- are you sure- have you actually checked the index pages here or just entered the name in the deaths 1837-1983 box ? (the latter stops at 1911)1911-1983 has to be done manually on ancestry. But 1984-2004 is easy on ancestry....that does have a quick search.

Would anyone have any idea how l can find out when and where my father died? My father was born 1910. l have looked on ancestry complete to 1983 but he's not there. He was born in Liverpool and stayed there most of his life before moving to Skelmersdale. Then my parents divorced and he was last heard of in Manchester early 1980ish. Can anyone help please. Pam
