How to find a known address on Ancestry?

I wanted to look up an address on the 1901 census on Ancestry. I have searched 1901 Online and found that the address existed so I know the parish and parliamentary borough etc. but I don't know the census piece or folio numbers. Does anyone know if this can be done? I hope that all made sense?! Annette

The only way I know of to find an address on Ancestry is to add town/village and county on search page and nothing else. This will bring up a list of everybody living in that town. Click on any image then click on blue hyperlink at top of page for the town and that will take you to the page that says View Enumerators District. You should be able to look through all these and it should give you a detailed list of all the streets etc where he went to take the census. Sorry if it doesn't make sense but I'm not finding it easy to explain. Jennie

One other thing I find it useful for is when looking at an address; if it is hard to read on the census page it is often much clearer on the enumerators page, especially if it is a farm or similar as they tend to be individually mentioned. Jennie

Thanks Jennie - I'll give it a try! Annette UPDATE ... I managed to find the address I was looking for - as I didn't know who was living there in 1901 I had to look through a few census pages before I found it. This is a good tip though, for finding other family members in the same area. Thanks again.

Annette What you describe is the usual way to use Ancestry, ie with the surname and place. I thought because you asked about searching for an address you didn't have a name to enter into the search page. Anyway, no matter how you got it I'm pleased you've got your info. Jennie xx
