With all due respect to every opinion. ........I thought Ted’s quote was very good, possibly black humour, listing some of the general perceptions English people have of many of our wartime allies. Light hearted banter can be good. Some folks rely on this sort of wit it helps lift a serious mood, some rely on the good book for consolation. I would suggest an equal read for those who have had any relative involved in a war, this is my personal lift when ever I have a disappointing moment, like a bad day when nothing goes right and I feel sorry for myself. I open the book Passchendaele by Philip Warner an account of the 3rd Battle of Ypres WW1, any page and read on........anecdotal stories, letters and more, If you think you have had a bad day---it could not compare to those that served. ......and it is close to genealogy, many family trees were cut or decimated during 1914-18. Best regards, Bob
