Sorry about earlier. PC was just being a pain!! Have checked out that possibility on the 1871 with Thomas born 1837 but I don't think it's the right one because it has him as Son in Law which means that they are staying with her parents - and her surname was either Kilroy / Conroy and the ones on this are Clark. Thanks for helping everyone. No doubt they will turn up eventually. |

Wow - you all answered at the same time!! OK, first off, I don't know anything about Thomas Furay so I don't know if he was a soldier. I also found that Fort Grange lot, but I still can't find Ellen on her own if she was at home waiting for him so I don't know - that's in my 'shoebox' on Ancestry to go back to if anything ties in with it. This Kilroy / Conroy thing has been going round a bit. I found Kilroy, but a connection on GR said it was Conry and that Kilroy was a typo. But yes, that is the right wedding. As for the Thomas born 1837 with Mary E - ??? I don't know. All other census have her down as Ellen but it could be a possibility. Will check it out. Thanks everyone. |

Was Thomas a soldier? At Fort Grange, Hampshire there was a Thomas Fury, soldier in the 88th Regiment, born 1850 in Ireland. |

Ellen's maiden name was Conroy. Even if they were living with her family, they wed in 1870 so I should still be able to find an Ellen Furay born 1851 in St Helens. Thanks for trying. I guess it's just another thing to bug me for a few months!! Thanks again. |

Hi All. I'm looking for a Thomas Furay and his wife Ellen in 1871. He was born in Ireland, born 1851/52 and she was born in St. Helens, Lancashire also born about 1851. They wed in Oldham, Lancashire in 1870. First daughter was born in Oldham in 1871 / 72. Have found them on all other census but can't find them on the 1871. Spelling on Furay varies. Have tried all variations I can think of. Ellen has also been spelt with just one L - Elen. Can anyone else find them pls?? |
