Missing death found -sort of-Help please

I have been looking for the death of my gg grandmother Emma Gellatly. She had a daughter in Oct 1861 and her husband remarried in Sept 1867. Assuming this was not a bigamous marriage she must have died somewhere in between these two dates. Someone kindly found a burial in Doncaster for 1864 -correct name and age. However even with this info I still cannot find the registration. Does this mean I cannot send for a death cert? Jennie |

I have looked on Ancestry through each quarter in the complete BMD index. Also on freebmd. I have checked again on the complete list for the date given and I still can't see it. Perhaps this age thing is getting me quicker than I realised. Jennie |

There is an Emma Gallatly - Rotherham 9c 287 in July quarter 1864 - could the spelling have changed? Helen x x x |

It is possible I suppose that it was transcibed incorrectly somewhere along the way. My gg grandfather died in Hull-I think it must be him. I wonder why she was buried in Doncaster. I have asked someone on the records board to look for Alexander Gellatly and see if he was buried in Doncaster as well. That will be interesting tho' I don't imagine it will be with his first wife.
