Uncle John Report 26 Aug 2006 22:16

Just to add: Elizabeth BARRETT (28) is sister-in-law, unmarried (so possibly step-sister) John BASSETT (30) is a boarder, so no relation. Surname looks like a coincidence. Everyone in the household was born in Ireland except Arthur Dee (grandson aged 2). No obvious sign of parents for him. J

1861 census –RG9/391 Rotherhithe, Southwark, Christchurch – 121 page 29? 9 West Lane Head – Dennis Duggan, wife Mary and two children and grandson Arthur Dee. Plus – Elizabeth Barrett – Sister-in-law – unmarried so I assume that she is wife Mary’s sister. Plus 2 boarders including a John Bassett – unmarried – gran. labourer. I need a consensus as to whether John is actually a Barrett or a Bassett. I am undecided as to which as writing unclear. If the consensus is Barrett then John could be both Elizabeth and Mary’s brother. Also I am not sure of the ages for both – help needed here also. Regards RIta
