Hi, we believe my grandad was in the Royal Flying Corps in WW1. Would this medal be on the national archives website to download, or is it only army medals that are available? Many thanks |

I'd have thought that it would be worth looking on Docs Online - the Royal Flying Corps started out as part of the army. Just double checked - this from the RAF's website - the Timeline: 1 Apr 1918- The Royal Air Force and Women's Royal Air Force are formed. Christine |

Might also be worth looking for references to him in the London Gazette Archives which are searchable online at: http://www.gazettes-online.*co.uk/archiveSearch.asp?WebType=0&Referer=full (remove *) Christine |
