Thanks Gwyn, I think you are right. Tracing back my dad'd line, I have about 25 wills, some involving considerable amounts of money and land. Heaven only knows what went wrong, but we were all as poor as church mice!!

I see it as ..landed.. too. I have found Wills for some of my folk, ..... but never any where much land or money was involved. Gwyn

It's Fellmonger. A dealer in fells or sheepskins, who separates the wool from the pelts.

on the census before it says Tellmonger, whatever that is. So maybe this one is buss proprieter meaning business owner?
