You don't have to put asterisks in for every ''dot'' - just make sure that there's something between any ''dot'' and anything starting ''co''. .gov .net .uk .org are all ok, for instance. Christine

Is that why all put asterisks or commas in web addresses as they don't work otherwise? Sorry for being a computer dunce!!

Thats a good idea. They are in my good books at the moment as I found a reference to a relative this morning-usually spend hours looking and get no where. Jennie

I don't have an answer but would think you'd have to be extremely carefull about how you handle the cert. If it were me I'd contact the local Records Centre and ask for advice. I was at one recently and was reading how they do it there. They obviously used gloves and placed the cert on what looked like a pillow and used weights which looked like miniture sand bags to hold the document down. I'd try this method and take a photo but it might be best to seek their advice first. Best of look, will keep an eye on this thread for future reference. Lou

Don't know if it would harm them or not. If I was going to try that think I would probably try it with a piece or greaseproof either side, and remember - NO STEAM Regards Looby

I saw the tip about acid-free plastic envelopes yesterday and someone suggested ironing photocopies. What can I do with crumpled up originals. I am tempted to iron them on a low setting.Would this be dreadful?? Jennie
