Pleased you had some success, nell. The great thing about this resource is going to be the ability to play 'catch up'. You do your work in the record office and then the next week you find a new ref and wish if only ....... Yes, it is only a transcription and there will be errors - but how much easier it is to have done the preliminary search before you go to the the record office to check! (I always eventually check secondary sources as a matter of course) Recently, they seem to have been adding a new parish every 2/3 weeks. I have started looking through each addition as a matter of course and have been very lucky, finding people where I would never normally have thought of looking! It is now in my favourites. Jay

This is great. I have a girl who is born Yarmouth - registered birth in Yarmouth and all censuses say Yarmouth. If I'd gone to Norwich records office and looked for her baptism in the Yarmouth parishes I'd be stuck, because her parents obviously took her back to her grandparents' parish to be baptised. It;s not where either of her parents came from, so I wouldn't have thought of looking there. Yippeee!

But a word of warning about the transcriptions - my grandfather is down as Israel Jabez Gray and he was actually Jeuel Jabez Gray. nell

Aaahhh! Yes Yes Yes! I THOUGHT I'd found a marriage for an elusive brother of my gt grandfather and sent off for the marriage cert. My heart sank when I saw a couple of baptisms on this site for this couple as they were children who don;t appear on the census with mum (dad, to make life difficult was a fisherman and away on every census night)- but then I found a child I have on the census with mother. The elder two children must have died :-( but my hunch about this couple seems to be right. nell

Snap Horatia! I thought I'd found them all. I went onto this site, and wonder of wonders, they actually have some of the parishes that MY ancestors were baptised in! Off to wallow! Thanks! nell

Another parish added to the Norfolk Baptism Project - they're being added quite frequently now, so if you have rellies in Norfolk, keep an eye on the site. Jay
