thanks for that. I have just googled and Midland Photographic seem to be a quite a big company so have emailed them. Off to google for papers now, thanks for the Aston Villa tip. Selena |

Birmingham Public Libraries would probably be able to help with local newspapers. The records office might be able to identify the photo. Playing rugby doesn't prevent you from playing football - I have husband and sons that do both! nell |

It sounds like the Aston Villa Ground to me. City ground is way south of Aston, and West Brom too far north. Birmingham 6 is definitely the Aston area. Have you tried 192 or similar, or Googling, to see if the Photographers still exist? There must be some Aston Anoraks on here who will know the Teams of old. |

This family member played rugby in Newport Wales so I am puzzled about the football photo. In the background is a sign saying Aston Brass Company. The back is stamped with Midland Photographic, press and commercial photographers. 219 Litchfield Road, birmingham 6. I thought of writing to a Birmingham newspaper to see if any readers can shed light on the football ground or date or players even. Can anyone suggest a newspaper to write to. Any suggestions appreciated, Selena (based in London so doesn't have a clue about Birmingham) |

I have a photo of a family member with a football team, possibly 1930's and I am trying to identify where the photo was taken. Bear with me while I layout some details,......thanks. |
