Roscommon is a county in the mid-west, bounded by Galway, Mayo, Sligo, Leitrim, Longford, West Meath and Offaly. Roscommon town is at the north end of Lough Ree. Exracted from rather small writing in my atlas without reading glasses. J |

At that time all of Ireland was part of the UK. Partition came in ?1923? J |

Thanks Jim and Kath from one of the censuses Mary and Thomas were both born in Roscommon, (my Irish geography is useless) so can have a look in Northern Ireland now. Have looked for the Naughtons but nothing jumps out yet. am trying to trace to witnesses who must have both been related to Thomas Linda x |

Perhaps it means that he was born Northern Ireland, or that his parents were English but were in ireland when he was born. Kath. x |

Don't forget that Northern Ireland IS British. I suppose you have tried looking for Norton too? |
