In the 1820's did Staines come under Middlesex as I am looking for a Mary Cheney whom married a Francis Goodchild in Berkshire in 1830. Don't really know how to start looking for her anyone any ideas please Margaret |

Staines was (and as far as I am concerned) still is in Middlesex. Genuki page for Staines: http://homepages.gold.ac.uk/genuki/MDX/Staines/index.html You would need to look in the parish baptism registers for your Ms Cheyney and hope she was born there. I would think Staines registers are at the London Metropolitan Archives. |

Thankyou Debra and Nell, yes I do have the 1841 census for the Goodchilds and in later census it says Mary Goodchild wife was born in Staines and Nell will have to try to get to the Metropolian Archives. thankyou Margaret x |
