mum insists he is a brother - no i haven't searched the death records they were moved from boston to sheffield thats when maurice lost contact - don't know how long it would take to search death records as we don't know what county to look in |

Maybe he wasn't actually a brother..............perhaps he was a cousin, or even just a child taken in to be cared for. Reg |

what year approximately did Gordon disappear? Have you searched the death indexes in case he died? Is there a records office for Boston that can help you out more on this? Marilyn |

thankyou georgina, - thats all i found this is most peculiar my mum is insistant they had a brother called gordan - he and maurice were put into a childrens home in sheffield when they were all seperated and then gordon dissappeared. maurice found mum and betty years later and has never found gordon - i would just like to know what happened to him so mum can piece together her past. they did find their mother again before she died. |

Sorry Paul, I cant find his birth I have been right through from 1932-1942 looking at Millings & Millins, I found Grace, Betty,Sheila,Maurice & John but nothing for Gordon. Georgina. |

yes maurice is my uncle - grace is my mum (1935) then there is betty - sheila who died at birth and john who died at 18mths but no trace of gordon my mothers fathers name was jock monaghan shes thinks from ireland and never married him she married a good few years later before she died |

Is Maurice Millings one of the brothers? If so, his birth was reg JAS 1936 in Boston district. That, at least, gives a possible location..........assuming the mother didn't move around the country. Reg |

does anyone know why i can't find a birth entry for a person - i have searched for days going thru indexes - my mum says she definately had a brother born between another brother and sister and he lived with them until they were spilt up and put in homes but i can't find any record. they all had their mothers name and she didn't not marry their father - this brother has never been found thanks for any tips sue |
