I've just been on the familysearch site and it's different to before, whats happen? I looked up the marriage of someone that I had got off the site before and it had their ages on, but although I made a note of them I never put which was which, and now low and behold the ages have disappeared. Also I went to check on a baptism date incase I had got the year wrong on another one, and what do I find but the parents names are missing and I know it was on there before. Are they putting right some of the mistakes or what? These are from the extracted records ones not the members ones. |

As far as I am aware, the LDS site doesn't alter anything. Some of the entries are taken from parish registers. Others are submitted by Mormons. They may or may not be accurate. If more than one person submits the same record, they just add them on, so you can often find, for example, a baptism record from a church register and several other records for the same date and person. BUT there is an idea which has been debated here, that the IGI is regularly rotated, so some records you may previously have found are not there, and others appear. nell |

Thanks Nell, the 2 I've looked up, were both extracted records before and still are, maybe you are right about the igi being on a [rota] sorry I forgot the word you used, and that could be why these are slightly different. I have 2 in my tree that I have seen the actual registers of and both have two entries written in, maybe the vicar had to much communion wine on those days he wrote them in. |

Take it from someone who knows; The IGI is NOT and NEVER will be on a 'rota system' What is there, remains there, warts an all. Don't believe me? Email and ask them. |
