FTM allows you to send reports or trees via PDF. You can send an ancestor or descendant tree for a specific individual, and include as much or little by way of date/location information that you wish. You can also send a pedigree tree the same way,(far easier to read than a family group sheet for several generations) I find it easier to send that first,it gives a good indication of the generations and helps separate all the Anns and Williams into easy to understand entries. Try playing with the options and viewing the results in PDF format, then decide if it is suitable to send.Simply select 'trees' from the menu then the type from the dropdown menu. You can then send reports as and when you need to expand on the info you are passing on. Glen |

Ah... Thanks for that. Think I'll try and work out how to export from FTM. My tree on FTM is more up-to-date than the one on here anyway. And, I suppose I could just import that bit onto here for the time being, then overwrite it with the whole tree later on. Thank you :) Bex |

Bex I am afraid it is all or nothing on here! As in you either give them access to your whole tree or not....You choose :) As to FTM I am sure you can just send the relevant tree but I am afraid I don't use it. I know there are many experts on here who do so they will probably be able to help. Chris |

Does anyone know how I can open just a part of my tree for someone else to view? I had a very nice request, and after exchanging some information it appears there is a definite connection. However, it is quite a distant connection so most of my tree won't be of any use to the other party. Is there a way I can just show the relevant part? I also have my tree on ft maker if that is any help. Many thanks. Bex |
