I've just bought FTM (unfortunately the 2005) but can't seem to get it to download my latest tree from here. It DID do it from the attachment sent from GR a while back for my LDS gedcom, but then I realised I had loads more names on my GR tree now. I keep getting the message ''you do not have permission to open this file'' Why did it do it with the old one? Hope you can follow this! Allie |

There is only the FTM program on the disc and once loaded you do not need to load it again. All your info is on your own computer. I would lend it to load (not strictly legal though as it is supposed to be for your own use) and keep the original in case your computer crashes. Backup your files on your computer to a CD in case of future mishaps. I have used FTM since it first came out and now have FTM 2006. Fantastic and you can do many things with it - search the web for matches from it, make a family book, make changes to your info, do various kinds of trees (fan, lists, reports) Easy to use but the MAIN thing is - when you need to know something USE the HELP at the top of the page. |

I think so, I have FTM on my two computers, and it never asks me to put the disc in to load it up... |

I have just taken my info from my paf and put it on a gedcom then I put it on ftm that I had put on my desk top. My question is as I no longer need the disc is it possible for me to give this to my next door neighbours daughter to have a go at and put it on her computer,if I do that will it still have my information on.
