Battle of the Somme death certs

I have two WW1 death certs and both say ''Casualty of War''. One of these I know was killed in action (his body was not recovered) and the other one died of pneumonia - so the death certs don't reflect what happened to them. Death certificates were issued mainly in order to give next of kin a piece of paper for admin purposes, rather than to tell them what happened to their relative. Merry

Cheers for that. I was hoping it wouldnt be too specific

Queenie it will most probably say killed in action or died from wounds. It won't go into anything specific. Snowdrops

After finding a relative on 1837 for the Somme was wondering why getting the relevant ref. for the death cost 10 credits and will there be a cause of death, just so Im prepared when it comes, you know how emotional it can be with the death certificates
