JPEG Image vs TIF Image

Thanks I have managed to print the picture to a better standard by downloading the image again,then scanning into HP (it needed heavily cropping) Now both versions are safely stored both on and off the PC. Somehow at some point my unused Windows programs have vanished (including paint).I did use it before to remove some scratches from photos etc but now i have no idea where (or if) Paint is still on my PC. Hi Glen Go to Start Programs Accessories Paint File - Open Click on the TIF file and it will open Barrie

JPEG files are much smaller than TIF files and are therefore suited to send as e-mail attachments, but if you work on them in Photoshop or similar each time you amend the picture you loose some quality. TIF files are larger and not suited to sending by e-mail but do not loose quality with modification. Regards Barrie

Been sent a photo as a TIF file. It won't go into FTM or my homepage as it is the wrong filetype. Ant ideas,i have tried printing and scanning but the original file isn't very big and the picture is pretty poor. Glen
