Hi Merry First hit (i hope) The GRO marriage cert looks like father called Jim,the birth cert says John (and the occupation is different!)But he is the only likely birth for 1923,as per the other tree and the marriage cert. I nearly posted for opinions for reading the certs but the problems today on here..... Looks like a call to the Middlesboro' Registrar to confirm the GRO cert. Glen |

How lovely!! (the photo!) I'm glad to hear you were able to trace your father's birth cert. Did you get a tip off about which would be the right one, or did you have to fork out for several in the end?? Merry |

Round 1 Although it isn't complete,my tree on my mothers side just got better. A photo of my g g/m on her 101st birthday arrived in my inbox today. So that makes photo's of mum,granny and grt granny back to about 1905. Round 2 My adoption file confirms who my father is and i have his birth cert so here we go again,trawling for an early 20th century marriage,date and place unknown.(how i hate trawling 20+ years with so little info,) Let's see how far this side can go back.
