Thanks Joan and Glen It was in late 1950's, nothing to do with the war. I never think of BMD apart from the English one, will have a go at that and see what i can find, or else will have to write, got a bit lazy where that is concerned - got too used to internet and wanting to know everything 'now'.

What year? There is info on Jersey during the occupation on the Jersey Heritage Trust website at www.jerseyheritagetrust.jeron.je If you click on 'Archives' you can search by name (need to put surname first) You can also e-mail the trust for info Joan

Taken from Genuki,but last updated in 2001 Civil Registration R.J. Kerley, The Superintendent Registrar, 10 Royal Square, St. Helier, Jersey JE2 4WA. Office Hours 9.30 a.m.to 12.30 p.m. If you google for Jersey bmd you might find some links,but the address quoted above is for the registrar,they should have the index available to check for the entry and supply a certificate if required. Can anybody please tell me how i go about getting a death cert from someone that died in Jersey. I am not sure if they were on holiday or resident, and would that make any difference?
