I use 'My tree matches' routinely every month. There are new members coming on all the time, poss with the same ancestors as me. Every time I find a new surname in my tree, I check it out with My Tree Matches. Ive found absolutely loads of living rellies this way.

I use My Tree Matches a lot. I set it up only to show new entries for 1 day (and I look at it most days!), so that I mostly just get a list of names, not a link to lists of names by letter. That doesn't usually work for the more common names, but the rarer ones - usually, yes. I only look at the direct line names, usually, apart from my father's stepfather's surname - which is an exception because he was clearly extremely important to my father. I've found a lot of useful matches that way. Christine

Thanks Gramps, thats a really good tip. Day before yesterday for the first time ever, I tried the 'who my tree matces to' and surprisingly found a likely match. I sent off a nice little note and within the hour my new relli replied. It turns out that her grandfather and my great grandfather were brothers. We have now exchanged info and thanks to 'the matches' I have more new additions to my tree and another bonus is that they sound like really nice genuine people. Hows that for beginners luck. Keep up the good work Gramps. Denise xxx PS I have scoured the trying to find boards for months and no joy.

As for me, 'My tree matches' is completely useless! I haven't looked at it for donkey's years. Kate.

Good tip, Granpa. Personally, I cannot be bothered to search (or even look at) the TTF board - its in an incomprehensible order, as far as I am concerned, with the living all mixed up with the dead! OC

I know you have put your request on the TtF Board, but I know that I personally seldom look at it, and I believe a lot of other members feel likewise. So, just in case I or the others have who you are looking for, don't forget to use the 'My Tree Matches' on the left.
