Ive been trawling through the birth indexes for my Endley clan and found that during WW2 and the year after I've found a few Endley children who have had the mothers maiden name as Endley. I cant get the certs just yet (sorting out new school uniform for september etc) but has anyone any suggestions? American GI's? Romantic periods during Army leave? Puddled and cross eyed

A lot went on during the war - people didn;t know if they would come back alive. Although, don;t count them all as illigitimate. I have a woman who married a man with the same surname as her, so the birth cert says Elizabeth Gregory, formerly Gregory.

Havent ruled that one out either Tom as there are quite a few of us, although must have been busy cousins, three babies quite close together
