unfortunately when transcribing the rule is TWYS (type what you see) maybe they should have been wearing glasses or were standing on one leg with their head titlted to the side and squinting?? I've had BOYARD as BRYAND Linda

I have a 'Lamb' who has been turned into a 'Saint', and , as for the windowers, well, someone has to clean them !! - a new occupation perhaps?? Dea x

Still wondering why so many women are described on Ancestry as 'windowers'.

The same way Cave has been transcribed to McGhin on the 1901 census perhaps?

If your first language isn't English............quite easily. lol! The censuses were transcribed for Ancestry in some very far-flung places. Reg

On the 1841 thats how! Admittedly the writing is not very clear but Eugs.............. I have had a right job finding this family!
