Would anyone want to take a look at a death cert for me. There are a couple of words I can't read..One is the name of the hospital and the other is apart of the cause of death - after the words tuberculosis of kidney and bladder there is another word and I can't work out what it is....looks like Aethemia?? Thanks Deb

Hi Deb Could the word be Asthenia....meaning weakness,Pulmonary tuberculosis. Cathy

The second letter looks very much like an 'e' to me, but what you suggested would make sense!!! Deb

The scan you sent me is very blurred and I can't really read it properly but could the Hospital be University College Hospital. The second word looks like College but I can't really be sure of the first word. I think Cathy might be right about the Asthenia. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen Sorry about the quality of the scan....I think you might be right though.....def 'sity' at the end!! Thanks for your help!!! Much appreiciated... Deb I'm now going to see whats wrong with scanner!!!

There might not be anything wrong with the scanner. Did you scan it at full size or did you make it smaller? It came through very small and became blurred when I increased the size. Kath. x

Hi Kathleen, I scanned it at full size but when emailed I chose the option to make smaller, maybe that's the problem.. Deb

If you want to send it again at full size, I'll have another look if you're still not sure about what it says. Kath. x

Val Two of the certs were from the same family..one boy died age 5 in the February and his brother died in March age 10 months - both had Pneumonia. But, I think the most upsetting one was from another family, he was 12 and accidentally drowned...I sort of think that back then when your child got sick you would have probably known there was a chance they might die. But I don't think you would ever think that when your 12 year old left the house oneday he would never come back....that one really broke my heart.... Deb
