I have a george monks on the records for deaths with the D.O.B of 25/05/12 but he doesn't show on the list of births. any ideas?

Have you checked a year either side of that date? I have found with some of mine that they tended to know the date they were born but sometimes were wrong with the year. Also it depends on who registered the death and how well they knew the deceased. Pat

Hi Stacey Have found these two for that year dont know if they are the right George. George Monks Birth Registration September Quarter 1912 Mothers maiden name: Maudsley W. Derby Volume: 8b Page: 1179 George Monks Birth Registration December Quarter 1912 Mothers maiden name: Gleave Warrington Volume: 8c, Page: 385 cathy

If he is the December quarter one, then if the birthdate given is correct there should be a handwritten entry at the bottom of the page for the June quarter saying 'See Dec/12'. Could be the September one, though, as the six weeks limit after his birth would just take you into July. Could be that his birth date has been given wrongly on the death certificate, though, or that he was born in a different country, or his name was different when he was born. Kate.
