Me being nosey...but have we missed something?

I don't know what this is about either and I am feeling very left out. Please someone, explain. There is reference to it on another thread on here as well. Someone enlighten us - you know what nosey folks us genealogists are! Tina

apparently somebody put porn pics on some site and put the user names of g.r members next to them a lot of names were put on the success board who are corsing grief for other members bacardi xx

just been on success board and all threads have been removed,but if you had read them you would of been shocked bacardi xx

Thanks for telling me. I am glad I did not see it now. Why does there always have to be someone who does not give a hoot for other people's feelings? Glad GR acted fast. Tina

It's not just that they don't give a hoot for others feelings, but that they actively wished to hurt. I understand (possibly wrongly?) that the members who put these pictures on another site were not reprimaded on here, though some were suspended for a while, but only because of other actions on this site. I think I know who some of them were, but it's completely pointless to say (partly in case I'm wrong!), as they are probably using other names now, in any case. It all gets soooo boring in the end (not for those who were badly hurt.....I mean for other onlookers). I'd rather do my family history (or someone elses!!) Merry

I am not going to name names in the hope that things will quieten down. But a few people hurt some very popular members and somebody named them on the success board, whether a member or not we wont know because anyone can read these boards and post on the success board. the people who were suspended are mainly back on the boards so no doubt it will all take off again over night when people are bored. best not to get involved and never post on what you see as a contentious thread. ann glos

The offending thread has now been removed. Just thought I would let you know. So have any threads on Gen board about it. So all is hunky Dorey on there again.:-)
