Viv didn't know you had Chelmsford rellies - or did you tell me & I;ve forgotten! My gt gt gt grandparents married in what is now Chelmsford Cathedral in 1805. I've been to Essex RO and its HUGE - especially compared with Cambridge!!! Oh, and you don't have to do all that (*) stuff if the address has a .gov in it.

Well I must be thick too then, because I can't see anything. It's a bit late in the year for an April fool isn't it?

Kate Report 18 Aug 2006 23:07

Sorry to be thick, but how do you search for a will on there? I can't see anything about it! Kate.

Funny enough I've been on their website today to find out what parish registers they hold for Chingford and Walthamstow and exactly where the records are held. Website address is www*essexcc*gov*uk (relpace * with dot) Viv (who is champing at the bit to get to Chelmsford to find her rellies!)

Oooh, Gwen, thanks for the tip, I will be straight on there! Kate.
