I have bought a new computer and I am trying to put everything off my hard drive on CD'S. Sorry for being so thick, but do I need to download all this info or will it still be there,if you see what I mean. I can hear you experts going 'O my God we have a right one here' Its an age thing. Ann |

Hi Ann I'm not too sure if you mean from your old computer to add to your new one or from this site. If you want to copy from your old computer and you have XP go to 'Start' then 'Control panel' then 'Back up your data' and a wizard will appear and take you through the process. If you mean your tree you'll have to down load it from here (I think) and then save it to a disc I hope this helps Heather |

Hi Heather, Thanks for your help. I am getting there with the help of my next door neighbours niece, a bit of a wiz on computers ( she also does my garden) We are going to spend a couple of hours tomorrow to set it up. I take it that when I log into GR everything will still be as it should be!!!! Ann |

Hi Ann I think that you should be able to log on to GR from any computer. Heather |

Ann if you have got it on a floppy you should be able to send it in an e-mail. Another option is http://www.mailbigfile(.)com/ You can send files upto 512 MB to any address. Bob |

Thanks to everybody for the help you have given me. Someone has now offered to do it for me. He has also offered to come and back up all my system with a special program in case my hard drive should go on me. Robert. Thanks for your suggestions re floppy disc. I cant send it as an e-mail to anywhere, as there isn't anywhere in my computer for the disc to go, that is my problem. Ann |
