Am trying to solve a family mystery but not 100% sure of the surname I am looking for, not sure if it is O'leary or O'leavey O'levey or O'livey!!! Any advice would be most welcome am using Ancestry. Thank you Janey

If you use ''o'lea*y'', that picks up more than one verson of name - i.e anything starting and finishing with the letters either side of the wildcard character (*). Ancestry insists on three real characters before a wildcard. Don't know if the apstrophe counts as a real character or a break. You'd find out if you could put in ''o'l*y''. Otherwise, it's like looking for something you think has been mistranscribed: put in less rather than more, so long as you don't get too many ''hits''. Christine

Thanks guy's, will try that christine. First name is John!!!! lol and death is in cornwall 1952 so nothing that would really stand out as unusual thanks janey
