You could try contacting the - Local History Library - based at Battersea Library. They may have a photo. Good luck Kathy

Hi, thanks all, I have been busy following the instructions given. I have managed to find Albert Mansions on the map of Battersea. I think that Christchurch is the nearest, although I can't quite work out whereabouts it is on Battersea Park Road, but I'm still working on it. I did look at the photo you suggested, but it doesn't show 33 Albert Mansions, as that is currently an estate agent, 'Home Search Bureau'. I had hoped that they might have a photo of the building on their website, but no and when I asked them for a photo, I got no joy, which was why I was wondering if someone in the area, might be able to take a photo for me? I'd be really grateful if anyone could help. Wish my family owned a place in Albert Mansions now, the flat in the advert was £399, 000 - you could get at least 2, 3 bed houses for that where I live! I know them well, they are opposite the park. Quite grand and spacious flats.

Yes Albert Mansions still exists - Very nice (££££) a few celebs live there. There are a few estate agents that cover that area - have a look on their websites and see if any are up for sale that way you may get a picture. Vikkix

What's the reference for the 1901 census entry? You can use this to see the description of the Enumeration District, and this will tell you the roads that bounded the area. At least that will narrow it down to a small chunk of Battersea! Richard

The choices are:- St Michael's Christchurch St Stephen's, Poyntz Road or St Andrew's Corunna Road Also, when I googled the address, I discovered that it still existed and is now 'Home Search Bureau', would anyone be able to take a photo of the building for me? I have tried asking them for a photo but got no joy from them. Many thanks for any help Lynn

My grandfather was living at 33 Albert Mansions in Battersea, in 1901. He was in the Church lads Brigade in 1910-12 and I am trying to find out which of 4 companies in Battersea, would have been the nearest to his address. I have tried looking on maps of Battersea, but have been unable to find it. Can anyone help?
