what does this mean on the 1891 census

It's actually 'Under detention'........the District is 'Formidable', which strikes me as being a navla establishment. The Head is a captain in the Royal Navy, so it may be one of the detention ships which were quite common. The enumeration district description is that it's a training ship for boys, about 1/2 mile off Portishead. So it would appear that he had misbehaved, and was being shown th error of his ways. Reg |

Hi i have been looking for my Launchbury family on the 1891 census and i have seen a Frederick Launchbury who instead of saying son/head etc it says under dakation does this mean hospital?
