Hi, There is a myth in my husbands family that one of there ancestors was hung for smuggling. How can I prove or disprove it . I have been on the site that Grampa Jim put up about 'Missing Ancestors' --- but found not one hung for smuggling( a lot hung for a lot of things) but not what I am looking for . Were smugglers hung ? and if so what was the named crime? Sheila |

Thanks people' The name is Monday ( as the day of the week) all the family come from around Ashburton in Devon After the mid 1800's the family gravitated to the Liverpool aera, so we think it must have been in the earley 1700's, Sheila Grandpa Jim what a good site but do you know what 'At Large' meant in connection to some of the Hangings S |
