Hi, I wonder if a kind person out there would be able to help me find this family in US & Canadian census returns post 1900 - Woodus (or Woodas?) Bannister born Fletching Sussex 9/4/1847. He was an armourer in the Royal Navy until being discharged in 1893. his wife Martha Bannister born Horsted Keynes Sussex in 1859. and sons William George Bannister born c1879 Sunderland Durham and Harry Bannister born c1886 Portsmouth Hampshire. Martha's mother (my great x2 grandmother) died in 1916. I have a copy of her estate's accounts, naming Martha as a beneficiary. The solicitor's letter at the time said that he had to send correspondence abroad, and I think this must have been to Martha. Also when Martha's brother died in 1923 he left money to William's daughter's Margaret, Marjary and Eileen Mary, and Harry's daughter's Kathleen Margaret, Phyllis Sylvia Agnes and Jean Elizabeth. Thank you for your help it's most appreciated. Rachelxx |
