Where's my Tree?

Here's a really stupid one. Some weeks ago, my attention was drawn to an internet service that would host a gedcom file, and allow users to view reports and charts online, including a very useful tool that would show graphically the relationship between any two people in the file. There was a basic free service, and a more sophisticated subscription based variant. Users could either share their data, or keep it entirely private. It looked interesting, so I registered as a user and uploaded an extract from my tree to have a play around with the features. However, I have totally forgotten the name of the site! Does this ring bells with anyone please (not my failing memory, we can all have 'senior moments', but the name of the site). I'm feeling very foolish!

It was TribalPages, thanks. Does anyone have any horror stories about their service? Having read about the new Ancestry service, I don't think I'll be falling over myself to use it. Mind you, GR is far from confidential. If you have made a provisional connection with the ancestors of another member, you can search for names that you expect to appear in their tree, and from the search results, reconstruct a tree, even before it has been shared. This can work particularly effectively for finding descendants of whom you are not aware: searching for a particular family name in a range of dates, and finding matches with your 'contact'. I have done this myself with a recent cousin, where I was more interested in my distant relations than the cousin was with their immediate ones, and I was suprised at how easy it was, and how much information I had obtained.

Clive I use Tribal Pages and my tree is 'locked'. Using their search facility you only find the trees with that particular name in, no dates ect, so it would be next to impossible to construct a tree from that. I would make one suggestion though...I keep a record of who has access to my tree on Tribal and occaisonally contact them to check if they are still researching. I warn them I am changing the password and could they let me know if they still want access. The first time I did it access went from 30ish down to 9! Chris
