After trying every single avenue I thought was possible including the local archives (needle in haystack when all you know is birth name and dob of adopted person) I get the number for Adoption aftercare for our local district. Its taken me bout 3 weeks to get to speak to someone in the office but when I did............ Wow he was sooooo very nice, after giving him all my Auntie Sheila's relevent details including birth parents etc and dads details (as he was also adopted) He says he will try and get me the details such as Date of adoption court which dealt with the adoption and maybe (big maybe I know) her adopted name (not holding my breathe for that last info) But I now feel a lot better I really only need the first part of the info as thier wasnt many girls adopted in the quarter im interested in (not that it still wont take me a few hours searching the adoption fiches down at the archives) but I now feel a lot closer to my needle in a haystack.
