Stephen Anyone can change their name to anything they like and it does not have to be done formally. If we are talking recently, i.e. in about the last 20 years, they would probably have done it by Deed Poll, but not necessarily. I think this information would be available in County Court records, but how you would access them I don't know! What sort of time are we talking about? The Times and I think, the London Gazette used to publish details of formal name changes. OC |

thank you oc his name is francis shea born 1907 greenwich but i have found him as balster he has 8 sibblins but i can find nothing on them wonderd if they may have changed there names as well anyway thank you for your info i will try the papers |

Stephen I found my Great Grandfathers change of name papers on the A2A site maybe yours might be on there www.a2a.org.uk |
