Silver, Silver Plated Goblet A well engraved cup for a school football team from 1901. The engraving reads as follows; Clayton Palmer Lorne House Uppingham Under 16. School Fives 1901 The Hallmark reads MW&S? A The question mark represents what looks like a bird shape, but it could be something else. The cup looks a bit battered and bruised, but they are only minor knocks and the bowl of the cup looks a bit skew wiff. We found Clayton at his school on the 1901 census and him and his family on the 1891 census. So there is a start for someone to follow up on the research if it is your family name. You never know, he could be a relation! A lovely piece of nostalgia for somebody Kind regards Helen |
